We get more info in 436 hrs than our parents had in 6 months

I will be your person to be posting blog entries for a little bit I have been called in as a favor to Free-Cellular-Phone-Deals webmaster. Now if this true and we get bombarded with so much info, and we are not all Rhode or Harvard graduates, how so most people with cell phones and blackberries deal with this information overload?

"We are in what you might label the age of home work....; which means that you have to be committed to school for life, skill enhancement goals, even bold ones will not suffice. your personal program must add up to nothing less than retooling every 4 - 6 years"

LARS Kolind, President of Oticon:

'Lars Kolind created what he called a spaghetti organization with no center. Kolind razed walls, eliminated secretaries, and erased job descriptions to create a 100% project directed entity, in which employees invent the tasks that need to be done, then physically arrange themselves as they see fit to get them done, the company auctioned off all its office furniture to employees. Now people stow their effects in caddies or personal carts moving them to appropriate spots in the completely open space, as their work with various colleagues requires'

So the question is how to we follow Tom Peters advice, intake 436 hours of information being thrown at us on our cell phone screens, emails, text messages and have time and money to upgrade to stay employed without frying our nerves, getting viruses in our bodies which take weeks to heal because we are so overwhelmed?

So what do you do when you are pressured at work whether you a new lawyer, new business owner that is trying to get all of your clients needs met? I say do what I do. Work Hard and Play hard. IF you are a work holic or a blackberry holic, don't have an anxiety attack, you will not lose your job overnight or all your friends, if you decide to take 1 day off a week from the blackberry, email, computer, text messaging. Start off with doing it just 1 time a week. Because once i get my clients in nature, I have a very strict rule, I have my friendly body guard swape their luggage for their cell phone and tell them their cell phone is prohibited on the tour. We are so diligent that we do this every day when we take them out on a 7 day tour every morning. We have caught so many people that are so embarrassed when they are caught. Because many of my clients, it can be 6 months salary to come on one of my 7, 14 or 27 day tours, I make sure my staff pampers them. Besides many of the locations I take them to are in the mountains and remote places where there are not cell phone towers in sight. I have a satellite phone but that is in case someone gets injured and they need to be helicoptered in for surgery.
