How to stay in touch but on a budget

Here are some How to Tips from a real live human being

Let me tell you, I live on a budget all right. I just graduated from an BCIT, a technology college as an aviation mechanic. I accumulated $200 000. And since it took me only 1 month to find a job. I needed to take 1 month off, because I developed shingles. A form of chicken pox for adults. As I fried my nerves from working 40 hours a week and the exams I had to pass to get my degree. I just bought the traveling on a budget magazine and transported myself over to Vietnam where I hired a boat and staff of 20 to take me cruising. The best part was, I got to eat fresh shrimp, fish, seafood right from the sea. I slept and eat for most of the month. There is nothing like having your breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked for you. I was the only 1 eating at the captains table. I did not want the staff to join me first because I did not speak the language plus, I was burned out form listening to my dorm room mate's problems for 4 years. I needed a break from talking to people. I found that whenever I talk to people, they are either complaining or sucking your energy. SO the best thing is I isolated myself and did not have a cell phone so people can reach me. I felt so resourced and re-juvenated after the trip, I highly recommend it to anyone.

Don't compare the carriers by just looking at the anytime minutes like I did

Why? 60 percent of what I do is text messaging. I thought it would be good to pay the $110 per month to get a laptop magazine messaging champ 2007 phone. I found out the carrier that leased them minutes was Sprint. Plus it was predicted by 2009 this wireless company would be out of business. What is the point of me buying a $300 qwerty keyboard instant messaging champ and finding out at 10th month in to the contract. The company would go belly up. I did not like the Idea that sprint also earlier this quarter laid off 5000 employees. Many people over look, when they walk into best buys, car toys, and listen to the sales pitch of the cell phone sales rep. They don't realize that the sales rep is hired as a minimum wage staffer. They are not your stock broker or mutual fund broker or financial planner where they are paid hundreds of dollars an hour to place your interest as the highest priority. Most people are not going to ask for the annual statement or what the financial health of a carrier before they sign a 2 year contract. I luckily did not pay the $300 for the phone and signed a 2 year contract with this carrier I am talking about that will go bankrupt. Even though it gave me unlimited text messaging.

Shop around to see if you can find an unlimited text messaging plan

Did you know that a la cart instant messaging can cost you as much as 15 cents per text messaging. If you text messaging as much as I do, it can add up to a huge bill. Only looking at the voice plans is not enough. In an annual survey of cell phone service, participants say text message is half of what they do on a cell phone. It would cost you more if you add photo attachments. You need to read the fine print and check out data wireless plans to see if there are any that have unlimited text messaging. Some offer 1 penny per text messaging, that is pretty reasonable if you ask me.
