The gathering of Elders
I attended the The eighth Fire on last week. It was a very special event. There was a crowded room of over 60 people gathered to hear David Courchane Jr speak about materialism will lead to destruction and how we need to love each other as that is the only thing that matters. Whether you are a very busy career person and can only chat with family members via text message or chating on the cell phone make time to go out to turtle lodge island in Manitoba where you can participate in drumming, healing and loving each other.
It doesn't matter what you race is, what your religion is, all is welcome. There are cultures like the native american, shamanic traditions where they really value their elders. Take the time today, to visit your grand mother, grand father, grand aunt or uncle and treat them out for dinner. If money is an issue, go to the nearest Mormon church and find out when the next free sunday dinner is. There is a church located in white rock where volenteers will pick up people that are in need of a warm meal down town and 300 people or more come out to have a free home cooked meal. Go check out the gathering of elders website.
Remember as respect to your elders, please turn your cell phone to vibrate mode and let your calls go to the voice mail and be attentive to the pearls o f wisdom that come out of their hearts and souls
