According to an article written by Kevin Maney of Conde Nast Portfolio Magazine in the September 2008 issue, Sprint has the highest churn rate in the wireless industry. Sprint New CEO Dan Hesse is on a mission to turn all that around. In an interview, Mr. Hesse said that when Sprint grew too fast, it cut a lot of corners. First by laying off staff and reducing the customer service department to a skeleton crew. As a measure to reduce Sprint, they reduced the staff in the customer service department, not only did they take cuts in jobs in the customer service department. A person I was having drinks with at a close by pub who was laid off by Sprint told me that they Sprint did not treat their people that well either. I am sure they did not make the top 100 companies to work for list.
If you happen to have been a very pissed off Sprint client, the question you have to ask yourself is do you want to give Sprint another chance? It use to be if you wanted personal service and walked into one of their retail stores to sort out a mistake on your wireless bill, you were directed to wait at least 1an hour on the phone to speak with a customer service. Apparently, if you walked into a store now, you will be able to talk about mistakes on your wireless phone bill.
The CEO is aware that in Conde Nest Interview that people have long memories and won't forget the pain they experienced as a customer. To try to turn things around if Dan Hesse and customer Sprint service employees wants a bonus on their check they have to wow and bring back all the customers sprint lost due to poor customer service. Even if you were to buy a Sprint Instint Which is a clone copy of the ever popular Iphone, that piece of technology itself is not going to send you vibes of love and kindness. Once burned twice shy, have you ever heard of that term? I was appalled
at the way my drinking buddy's lousy work conditions. He has gone off to a better career. He is working at a home based business selling Kangen water filters. He loves not having a boss, he loves not to have to suck up to management. Best of all he no longer has to burden any more monthly evalutions. In the call centre he sat beside the most caring and proficient customer service rep.
Sprint will be the first wireless provider for Google Android's phone and run its open source operating system. Perhaps it would not hurt if Dan Hesse were to spend a week at the Google Campus and see the stark contrast of how happy All Google employees are and perhaps adopted some of the principles Larry the owner of Google uses to treat Sprint Employees the same way. As well, Sprint is working on putting chips which will allow you to recieve Wi Max in your car. So while you are driving to your golf range or favorite fishing hole to get away from screaming kids and a nagging partner, you could be downloading self help how to be a better husband, how to be a better employee, how to be a better brother movies while you are driving to a recreational activity to get away from the stress of life.
